Sony Music Entertainment UK is proud to announce the signing of the UK’s Eurovision Song Contest 2016 entry Joe and Jake.
The duo consisting of Joe Woolford and Jake Shakeshaft stunned the nation with their entry song ‘You’re Not Alone’ winning the public vote on the BBC’s Eurovision: You Decide. Joe and Jake will perform ‘You’re Not Alone’ at the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden to a global television audience of over 180 million viewers across 67 countries.
Managing Director of Sony Music Commercial Group Phil Savill said “Joe and Jake are a fantastically talented pair of artists and ‘You’re Not Alone’ is an outstanding song, its no surprise that they were chosen to represent the UK with this track in Stockholm. We are delighted to be working with the guys on making this year’s UK Eurovision entry a huge International hit and launching the careers of this amazing act!”
Audiences across the globe will cast their vote and participate in one of the longest running annual TV song competitions of all time. Joe and Jake become the UK’s 60th entry into the Eurovision Song Contest.
Before embarking on their Eurovision journey, Joe and Jake both auditioned separately for the fourth series of The Voice UK in 2015 where they went on to be mentored by pop royalty Rita Ora and Will.i.am. Two became one when they both merged their talents after their run on The Voice UK.
‘You’re Not Alone’ is produced by hit-maker Matt Schwartz who has cut records for Massive Attack, Kylie Minogue, Olly Murs and Cheryl. ‘You’re Not Alone’ is an uplifting pop anthem set to wow Europe.
Joe and Jake said, “We are so excited to be signed by Sony! This whole experience has been a dream come true and we cannot wait to hit the stage at Eurovision. ‘You’re Not Alone’ is a song that means so much to us. Representing our nation is an absolute honour and we really want to make the UK proud”.
