Jahméne’s track ‘I Wish’ from his Album ‘Unfathomable Phantasmagoria’
Peace Day 21 September
Jahméne is thrilled to be the voice of Peace One Day. The Track ‘I Wish’ produced by Damian Montagu ‘from his up and coming album ‘Unfathomable Phantasmagoria’ was selected by Peace One Day to be the song for this year’s event.
Grammy Award winner Diane Warren (Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Beyonce) invited Jahméne to write a song with her for his album at her studio in LA. Not only was that a huge honour for Jahméne but the result of their collaboration was an impassioned, poignant ballad that sends a powerful message to the world. A wish for a peaceful world, no more pain and hurt. A place where love rules and where hearts would forgive. An appropriate message for our time which Jahméne delivers with heart felt emotion. Artists such as Elton John, Annie Lennox, John Legend and Corinne Bailey Rae have all lent their voices to events in the past. This is an exciting moment for Jahméne to share his incredible vocals and send a spirituous message that looks set to resonate across a worldwide platform. A contribution from the proceeds of ‘I Wish’ will be donated to Peace One Day.
Peace One Day (POD) was created in 1998 by Jeremy Gilley, a British film maker. It is a non-profit organisation based in London dedicated to raising awareness worldwide of 21 September as an annual day of global ceasefire and nonviolence (Peace Day). POD is non-political, dedicated to working with all sectors of society, with a track record of organising activities around the globe on Peace Day, 21 September. Peace One Day led the process that resulted in the UN member states unanimously adopting Peace Day as an annual day of ceasefire and non-violence on a fixed calendar date, 21 September.
Peace One Day sees everybody, from young people in the community to older people at companies and big corporations involved with Peace Day celebrations through dance, music, art, sport, mass prayers or other activities on 21 September 2016. High profile supporters include Jude Law, his holiness the Dalai Lama, Kofi Annan former UN secretary –Genera and Annie Lennox to name a few.
Jahméne has been involved with Peace One day for several years now so was keen to lend his voice in support of peace and the day’s event.
Jahméne says: When I first heard Diane Warren’s song “I Wish” our hope for the epic record was that it found its home with something that matched the lyrics intentions, the heart and the spirit of the song. When Peace One Day told me the news I was overwhelmed that it was being used for something so incredible. I will forever be in awe of the work Peace One Day do and to be involved is a dream; humbling and enlightening.
